Professional Plant Health Care from Local Arborists
Most tree problems start small. A thinning crown, early fall color, or a few dead branch tips are easy to overlook, but they are often the first sign of a pest, a disease, or stress in the root zone. Caught early, many of these problems can be treated. Left alone, they often end in removal.
Plant health care is the proactive side of tree service. We inspect your trees and shrubs, identify what is going on, and recommend treatment and a fertilization schedule tailored to your property, your soil, and the species you have.

Plant Health Care FAQs
Straight answers from our arborists.
How do I know if my tree is sick?
Watch for leaves that are undersized, discolored, or dropping early, dead branch tips, thinning at the top of the crown, holes or sawdust on the trunk, peeling bark, and mushrooms at the base. If you notice any of these, have an arborist take a look.
Do trees really need fertilizer?
In a forest, fallen leaves recycle nutrients back into the soil. In a yard, leaves are raked away and soil is often compacted. A tailored fertilization schedule replaces what is missing and helps trees resist pests and drought.
Can a tree with emerald ash borer be saved?
It depends on how far the infestation has progressed. Ash trees that still have most of their canopy are often good candidates for treatment. Trees with heavy dieback are usually safer to remove. An inspection will tell you which you have.
When should oaks be pruned to avoid oak wilt?
Avoid pruning oaks from mid-April through mid-July, when the beetles that spread oak wilt are most active. Dormant season pruning is safest.
How often should my trees be inspected?
Once a year is a good baseline for mature trees near a home. Trees with known problems or high value may warrant a seasonal check.
Is treatment always the answer?
No. Sometimes the best recommendation is better watering, mulch, or simply monitoring. We will tell you plainly what we think your trees need and what they do not.
